I recently asked Facebook what their favorite mobile fitness tracking applications were. Last night I tested one, when I went for a 4 mile run using both my GPS and Endomondo on my Samsung Galaxy S4 cell phone. Below are my preliminary thoughts regarding Endomondo in comparison with my Garmin 310XT.

Data:

Garmin 310 XT
Total Distance: 4 Miles
Total Time: 33:01
Average Pace: 8:14/mile
Miles: 8:18 – 8:01 – 8:23 – 8:15

Endomondo
Total Distance: 4 Miles
Total Time: 33:23
Average Pace: 8:20/mile
Miles: 8:20 – 8:01 – 8:29 – 8:25

Endomondo Mobile Interface:

The mobile interface was actually pretty impressive. I am accustomed to looking at my watch and at times am unable to see what I am doing. Endomondo has an easy to find workout mode that allows you to pick between exercises such as running, cross country skiing, cycling, skating, and much more. It also allows you to pick different types of workouts which include; a basic workout, a fitness test, and a friend challenge in the free version, and interval training and Beat Yourself in the pro version ($2.99/month or $19.99/year).
