DyeStat Florida's Top 10 Moments of 2016 - Florida Girls Sweep Adidas Dream 100 - DyeStatFL 2016Published by
Ka'Deem Wynn - Among those who qualified, Florida sent three girls to compete at the Adidas Boost Boston Games, now in place of the Adidas Grand Prix, which usually hosted the Dream Mile (now Dream 1500) and Dream 100 until it was discontinued after last year’s event.
In an incredible display of ‘#FloridaFast’ speed, Amuru Patterson, Ka’tia Seymour, and Tamari Davis went 1-2-3 in the 100-meter dash, not leaving any room for any other “state” to get in.
In other words, Florida swept this year’s Dream 100. The trio showed up, and showed out. That’s all there is to it. In a very tight race with a very close finish, as most 100 races are, Miami signee Patterson won in 11.59, with FSU signee Seymour and Davis in tow, running 11.66 and 11.77 respectively.
ALL of these girls will be returners during the 2017 outdoor season, with Patterson and Seymour becoming seniors, and little Davis now only an eighth grader. But don’t worry, she’s not afraid to run with the big girls as she was the youngest competitor ever to toe the line at The Dream 100.
Who knows, maybe these three girls will have a 1-2-3 repeat next year and possibly switch up the order. Only the clock can tell. More news |
