DP NewsFlash - NCAA D1 South Regional Update

DistancePreps.com News Flash - The NCAA D1 Men's Championship kicked off today for 2 automatic team births to the National Championship at Harry Pritchett Running Park, home course for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide distance squads.

 

Florida Gators Mark Parrish for only the 2nd time in Florida Gator history won the South Regional in 29:44.  Florida's Jimmy Clark was 2nd in 29:49 and Eddie Garcia was 9th. 

 

Florida finished 2nd to Georgia in the South Regional 72-73 and will automatically go to the National Championship.  FSU was 3rd.

 

The FSU Women's continued their streak and dominance at the South Regional with Colleen Quigley earning the individual Regional championship as well.  Florida's Cory McGee was 2nd.

 

Vanderbilt's Lady Commodores earned the other automatic qualifying spot to Nationals next week in Terre Haute, Indiana.  The Gators finished 4th and will have to hope for an at-large bid to Nationals.
