DistancePreps NewsFlash - Ft Myers Green Wave sr. Tyler Bennett commits to UNF

DistancePreps can confirm Ft Myers senior distance stand-out Tyler Bennett has verbally committed to compete in the Fall of 2013 for Coach Jeff Pigg and the University of North Florida Ospreys. 

Tyler is a 2 time State runner-up in the FHSAA State Cross-Country championships (2012 and 2013) with a 5K PR of 15:06 from this years FSU Pre-State Invitational where he finished 3rd overall in the Boys Elite race. 

Tyler also has PR's of 4:30 in the 1600 and 9:25 in the 3200.

This is the 3rd significant commitment for the Osprey's this season so far.  Stanton Prep's Wesley Norton and Niceville's Nick Morken have also committed to the Osprey distance program.  The Osprey men recently finished 14th in the NCAA D1 South Regional and 5th at the Atlantic Sun XC Championships.
