DistancePreps.com - 'Tis the season with lots of breaking college announcements.

Kendal Williiams, Stanton Prep's stand-out sprinter, 3A State 200 State champion and 100 runner-up, 2 time Dream 100 finalist (6th 2013 1.68), announced via Twitter that he will attend Florida State University.

On Becoming an Elite at the National Level:

I got to that point in my career through all the sweat and hard work I had to put in at practice as well as off the track becoming a student of the game and keeping my grades up. The achievements are humbling and I have a lot of them but I still have a long way to go reach my goals which is also how I narrowed down my college choices. i wanted to go to a school that has a strong mix of academics and athletics and I felt that FSU had that and they can really help me to achieve my goals in the future.

On the Recruiting Process:

The recruiting process was long and I learned a whole lot about college life and what each school has to offer a lot in terms of an education and a lot of them have strong track programs so it comes down to where you feel most comfortable and where you feel like you'll shine brightest. As far as advice, it would be to have goals and stay focused so that you don't get side tracked while looking at colleges because there are a lot of distractions and to take all 5 of your visits.

On the type of person FSU has recruited:

As an athlete and a student the Seminoles are getting a person who will take care of business on and off the track. Also a person who can be a potential leader of a great program.

On his strengths and weaknesses:

Strengths would be my competitiveness and willingness to better myself, and of course my speed. As far as weaknesses; I dont lift weights or do extensive work as far as block work and speed work which is something i'll do more of in Tally.

On his planned Major in college.

I plan to major in Kinesiology.
